The 2013 Reclink Community Cup is just a few weeks away, the two teams are in lockdown in vigorous training sessions and excitement is mounting. The PBS 106.7FM / Triple R 102.7FM Megahertz and the Rockdogs are about to reveal their teams for the big match on Sunday 23rd June at Elsternwick Park, and there’s now more ways than one to be a part of this year’s event, with the inaugural launch of this year’s Community Cup crowdfunding initiative, Get On The Bus at http://polishthecup.com.

It’s time to unveil the teams. Dan Sultan returns to captain the Rockdogs for the third year in a row, along with coach Paul Kelly. Lucy and Kat Spazzy will co-captain. Nicci Reid, Liam O’Shannessy and Nick Cooper are the Team Managers.

Add to that members from Bitter Sweet Kicks, Bowers, Dick Diver, The Murlocs, Even, The Spazzys, Cosmic Psychos, Big Scary, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Money For Rope, Nation Blue, The UV Race, Graveyard Train, Vasoe Era, Tame Impala, Boomgates, plus Dave Larkin, Laura Imbruglia, Monique Brumby and Mark Evans from AC/DC.

The PBS 106.7FM / Triple R 102.7FM Megahertz will feature a splendid selection of community broadcasters from all of your favourite shows from both the PBS 106.7FM and Triple R 102.7FM program grids. They’ll be headed by Co-Captains, Maddy Mac (The Breakfast Spread – PBS 106.7FM) and Stew Farrell (Breakfasters - Triple R 102.7FM), plus Director of Coaching Neil Rogers (The Australian Mood – Triple R 102.7FM), Coach Vince Peach (Soul Time – PBS 106.7FM), Assistant Coaches Crispi Winsor (PBS 106.7FM The Breakfast Spread), Bron Burton (Triple R 102.7FM Radio Marinara), DQ (PBS/RRR Swami) and Tim Harrington (Triple R 102.7FM Breakfasters Sports Guy). Plus there’s Megahertz President Jon Von Goes (JVG Radio Method – Triple R 102.7FM).

Gracing the stage will be much loved Aussie icons Beasts of Bourbon, Melbourne garage pop duo Super Wild Horses, as well as psychedelic, Victorian Surfcoast garage rockers King Gizzard & The Wizard Lizard. And first up, a family pre match treat, Justine Clarke performing her special brand of retro pop inspired tunes for the kids.

As well as getting down to Elsternwick Park on June 23rd, you can be a part of pre match festivities by Getting On The Bus, a crowdfunding initiative to make sure that the Cup reaches its fundraising targets. Take an exclusive seat with Stew Farrell (Triple R 102.7FM Breakfasters) and Maddy Mac (PBS 106.7FM Breakfast Spread), and pledge your support. There’s loads of incentives... a signed footy, a backstage pass to the changerooms, and the golden duck, an opportunity to rub shoulders on the field with both teams.

If you simply can’t make it down, fear not, this is your chance to contribute to Reclink Australia, who’s amazing programs use sport and the arts to enhance the lives of some of the community’s most vulnerable and isolated people. Go to http://polishthecup.com for all the info.
