Clairy Browne & the Bangin' Rackettes are getting set to take over the Hi-Fi on Saturday November 12th, with the home town launch of their debut album, Baby Caught the Bus.

Never ones to shy away from a full-blown production, this very special evening will be an old school dance hall style party, where the hair is high and the music is sleazy.

The record has been in the making for two years recorded with and produced by fearless leader, Steve Schram (Little Red, Little Birdy, Cat Empire, Eagle and the Worm, Ground Components) Baby Caught the Bus is an incredibly accomplished first release, moving through heart wrenching doo-wop wailing to drunken piano’s, party hysteria and tough, hard hitting soul. This collection of songs is delivered with dynamic vocal harmonies and the force of the rhythm section, with Clairy’s big soul voice and the horns leading the procession.

To celebrate the release the band are going all out with a line-up of their personal favourites and the intention of putting on a party to remember. Joining CB/BR on the stage are the five-piece purveyors of country gospel and folk-rock, Little John. With their angelic harmonies reminiscent of the American Folk tradition and a gritty rock'n'roll delivery, the distinct sound of Little John evokes images of old American landscapes by way of a twisted Australian rhetoric.

With a completely different take on the glorious decade, The Frowning Clouds will bring much more than just awesome hair. Jangling guitars, damp reverb, matter-of-fact harmonies and a jauntily swinging freak beat will hypnotize.
