There are more than a hundred children locked up on Nauru by the Australian government. There are still more in immigration prisons in Australia. Some have been there with their families for years, just for trying to find safety in Australia. They are not free and they are suffering.

The Children's March is an all-ages protest to say to our government - enough! Meet at Birrarung Marr at 11am (by the river, near Fed Square). The march will leave from there and will be accompanied by safety and traffic marshals.

There will be children’s speeches and singing. Please wear bright colours.

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child states that that all children have the right to live a full life. We call on the Australian government to end mandatory detention and offshore processing of all refugees and asylum seekers.

Solidarity is extended to all communities that are persecuted because of where they come from or the colour of their skin. We acknowledge the founding racism that connects the incarceration of Indigenous people and the incarceration of refugees.
