Sun 27 Nov 2011 to Sun 18 Dec 2011

Rocking out every Sunday between November 27 to December 18, Jim Beam is bringing back Bandlands to The Evelyn Hotel, Fitzroy, a grass roots initiative of the next kind. Presented in conjunction with Tonedeaf, PBS 106.7 FM, The Evelyn Hotel and Beat Magazine, this is the second consecutive year that Jim Beam's Bandlands has been hyping up the Melbourne music scene, and giving new, unsigned bands a chance to tread the boards.

All shows kick off at 8pm, and tickets are $10 at the door. Check out the lineups here:

Sunday 27th November
Kingswood, The Darts + Claws & Organs

Local indie rock four piece Kingswood bring their blues rock explosion, teaming up with proto-grunge stylings of The Darts. First up, rough-around-the-edges grunge, garage and stoner-rock of Claws & Organs.

Sunday 4th December
Poco la Pax, Killbot Kindergarten + Midsummer Tribe

Poco la Pax scrambles together anything they love into their sound sassy Latin horns with electronic samples, punchy fat beats fleshed out with wandering indie guitar and jazz melodies. They will be joined by the retro-futurist collaboration of neo soul tones of Killbot Kindergarten, while Midsummer Tribe kick off the night, fresh off the back of a show with Sneaky Sound System.

Sunday 11th December
8 Bit Love, Without Wolves + Black Fox

8 Bit Love have been not-so-quietly making a name for themselves doing what they love: making music and making people dance. They team up alongside Without Wolves, scratchy, intricate guitars, 80s inspired synth, pop bass lines, fast paced beats and distinct vocals. Also playing, Black Fox - sleek, cunning, and a threat to our Country’s natural fauna.

Sunday 18th December
Animaux + Private Life

If jazz and pop had a lovechild, got divorced, remarried funk and soul, and then all raised said lovechild together, Animaux would surely be the end result. They are teamed up with Private Life, an enigmatic duo fresh off the back of a hugely successful residency at the Evelyn.
