Fri 23 Mar 2012 to Sun 25 Mar 2012

Avoca in Victoria’s Pyrenees will rock when the inaugural Avoca Music Festival comes to town on 23-25 March 2012. The festival will feature an outstanding array of musicians in an unusual environment - the local racecourse.

“The Avoca Racecourse is a fantastic venue, with undercover stages, plus open air entertainment areas, bars and a grandstand. For those who don’t want to bother setting up tents or caravans, we’ll have a Tent City on site, with a touch of glamour camping for our patrons,” said festival director Steve Donaldson

Performers will rove across three stages, ensuring shady or dry viewing options whatever the weather. A great event for grownup music fans who want the fun and variety of a festival with the convenience of a pub or theatre concert.

Headline acts include Queensland country and blues songstress Shandell, the Louisiana-inspired and very danceable Zydeco Jump, and the high-powered blues of Chris Wilson and Band. Also appearing will be Pete Denahy - the man responsible for the hit song "Sort Of, Dunno, Nothin" which has been played on Spicks and Specks, Rage and even on Big Brother. The Tabasco Tom and Doc White show brings a mix of one part old-time medicine show, one part hillbilly swing, spiced with a bit of country blues and New Orleans jazz.

For those who like to stay up late and keep on partying, Wild Turkey will be strutting their original style of Rockabilly and Psychobilly.

Camping
There is also a huge camping area on site and other accommodation options are only three kilometres away in Avoca township. A shuttle bus will operate hourly between town and the racecourse so that patrons can enjoy the whole experience without having to drive.

Tickets
Pre booked tickets $90.00 Adult and $ 70:00 youth tickets. Tickets at the gate will be $100:00 Adult $80:00 Youth tickets. So pre-book now to save.
