by Zammuto

Zammuto’s new album Anchor is kind of like Air meets Kraftwerk with a little bit of dance pop and folk thrown in for good measure. And the result is interesting and addictive! Zammuto is the latest project of Nick Zammuto, one half of electronic/folk/experimental duo The Books (with Paul De Jong) who amicably split back in 2012 to focus on other projects. However, Anchor is more accessible/conventional than The Books material, but contains their legacy of a noticeable folk guitar element throughout. For example, this sound is particularly prominent in ‘Need Some Sun.’ Tracks to listen out for include ‘Stop Counting,’ ‘IO,’ ‘Sinker’ and ‘Good Graces.’ One thing is for sure, you won’t get bored listening to this album. It’s thoughtful, and thought provoking. Perfect for listening to in your own time, your own space. Hopefully we hear more from Nick Zammuto in the near future.
