Access Airwaves recently wrapped up its second successful radio course, held at the PBS studios for a group of young people from the surrounding housing estates. The participants each undertake a three week course run by popular PBS announcers right here on Easey Street.

Access Airwaves aims to give attendees a taste of community broadcasting whilst serving to increase self confidence, networking, and encourage participation in a positive community environment. The course enables recipients to gain transferable skills in various aspects of live and pre-recorded music presentation, gearing them up to become the next generation of music specialist radio announcers!

Community broadcaster PBS 106.7FM is an iconic pillar of Melbourne’s unique music and arts community. Since 1979 PBS has been a key provider of independent and diverse music. With over 80 specialist music programs ranging from soul to garage to country to jazz, PBS is dedicated to promoting and nurturing music in all its diversity.
