Origin of You is a startling new collaboration between Chinese-Australian composers Mindy
Meng Wang 王萌 and Becky Sui Zhen, forming spontaneously one wintry afternoon in
Melbourne and enduring with bonds that will last longer than a lifetime.

Revered Melbourne blues institution Checkerboard Lounge return with the release of their new album Roller Coaster. Co-produced by the band and Jeff Lang at his studio The Enclave, Roller Coaster follows their multi-award winning and blues-chart topping album Sun Sessions which was one of Rhythms magazine's Top 10 Albums of the Year, and which spent more than a year on the Australian Blues & Roots Airplay chart, including multiple months at #1.   

Australian multi-instrumentalist Mick Harvey has completed a new album of duets, Phantasmagoria in Blue, his first collaboration with Mexican artist and filmmaker Amanda Acevedo. The 14-track album of duets features Harvey and Acevedo bringing new life to songs which were sourced from existing duets, songs that were never intended as duets, translations from Spanish, songs sung in Spanish, and a sprinkling of original compositions.

Indonesian three-piece Ali (John Paul Patton, Arswandaru Cahyo, and Absar Lebeh) incorporate Middle Eastern musical culture with elements of 1970s Indonesian rock, cinematic soul, funk, disco, and afrobeat, to create a new groove and sound straight from the contemporary and vibrant Indonesian music scene.  

With all lyrics written in Arabic, Ali builds on the influence of Middle Eastern art and music, which over centuries has assimilated itself deep into Indonesian culture and way of life.
