Widely credited as the first-ever death metal band, USA group Possessed helped shape the Bay Area thrash scene of the ’80s alongside Metallica and Exodus. Known for their ferocious speed and Jeff Becerra’s iconic growled vocals, the band left a lasting mark with groundbreaking releases, such as 'Seven Churches' in 1985.
