Hamoris Lian Timor is a powerful cultural project from Timor-Leste, bringing the rich traditions, music, dance, and spoken stories of Timor to life on stage. Playing at Memo Music Hall in St Kilda on Saturday August 9, Timor-Leste marks more than 50 years of its diaspora in Australia, and Hamoris Lian Timor celebrates the enduring connection between the Timorese people and the Australian communities that welcomed them. Alcides Neto is a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Naarm. Inspired by folk music from his home country, Alcides aims to present his perspective of Brazilian music, mixing traditional styles with Brazilian contemporary jazz. He comes onto Homebrew to play a few songs and chat to Brooke about the Music In Exile show at The Night Cat on August 8 with Ausecuma Beats and NŪ.

Poison City Records is teaming up with Northcote Social Club to help celebrate two decades of this iconic Northcote venue. Party organisers and record label Proto Exotica have put together a six-track compilation of Balearic and downtempo productions from artists across the Asia-Pacific region.
