Tune in to Underground Love this Tuesday as Jordan chats with McKimmie, Nicole Thibault and Lachlan Denton who are playing at Melbourne Popfest '26. Presented by Lost and Lonesome Recording Co, the festival will be taking place at Coburg RSL from April 11 - 12 to celebrate the city's undying love for underground, indie pop music. There will be eighteen bands at various stages in their career – some new, some less new – but all searching for that vital POP moment.

On April 2, Brunswick Ballroom will host Bluetile Lounge’s first live performance in over 20 years. Persevered with refining a unique downtempo sound in Perth in the 1990s adrift from contemporary rock values, Bluetile Lounge favours slow burn permanence to quick reward. Although their two albums ‘lowercase' and 'Half | Cut' went unrecognised, in the decades since they have been rediscovered and admired. Dan of Bluetile Lounge joins Claire Dickson to chat about the band's upcoming show.

Boorloo / Perth-based experimental psych outfit Monotonic have just released their new single, ‘Lazers At Dawn’, the second track to be taken from their upcoming album ‘Heavy Metal’, out March 27. A hazy, fuzz-drenched expedition fuelled by cult cinema and various altered states, ‘Lazers At Dawn’ pushes deeper into the band’s hypnotic, genre-blurring sound. Produced by Alice Payne, 'Evolution' is a three-track EP that weaves between deep house, tech house and dub reggae infusions. Each track focuses on percussive grooves that gradually evolve into uplifting, dreamy energies. Local duo Zoltan Fecso and Anna Morley are about to release their debut collaborative album 'Desire Path' on Sydney's Oxtail Recordings on March 27. A collection of atmospheric duets for vibraphone and synthesiser, the album was recorded live and unedited. Mutti Mutti, Yort Yorta and Nari Nari Songman, Kutcha Edwards has been recognised as one of the nation’s most powerful and soulful voices. Since emerging in the 90’s, Kutcha has been prolifically combining songwriting and activism. Through his songs, stories, and the connections he makes with others, Kutcha shares truths that are too often unheard. Playing at the Recital Centre on April 17, Kutcha stops by The Breakfast Spread. Australian composer, performer, and academic, Professor Cat Hope, will be joining Ian Parsons on The Sound Barrier to talk about the music and legacy of Éliane Radigue, one of the world's most important composers of experimental music, who died on February 23 at the age of 94. Éliane Radigue is especially known for her deeply immersive music, which focuses on stillness and slowly, microscopically shifting sound colours and textures. After 35+ years in music, juggled between careers in family law and as a Federal Circuit Court Judge, feminist and political songwriter Judy Small bids farewell to music due to illness, releasing two final tracks 'Stand or Fall' and 'Within These Walls (Yad Vashem)', marking the close of her music story. Led by local trumpet player /composer Liam McGorry, ‘Sumbisori’ is the debut album by the newly formed Melbourne group. Assembled to realise McGorry’s compositions drawing on 1960s Italian and French soundtrack music, Temporary Blessings brings together trusted instrumentalists and fellow travelers from Melbourne’s rich enclave of cinematic soul.

'Light Of Midnight’ is happening on March 27 and 28, a curated collection of Melbourne/Naarm creatives across art, design, and performance. People can expect to dissolve deep into a beanbag, with live electronic sets, dance, breathwork, live painting, and performance to reset the nervous system. Joining Edd Fisher on Tomorrowland is local DJ and event organiser Badeo, tune in to hear more about the artists on the line-up.

Ports of Paradise listener Adrian has found possibly the world's rarest exotica record, which is potentially worth thousands of dollars. Having discovered it in a Frankston op shop, Adrian will be joining Palm Tree Paddy on the Ports of Paradise to chat about and play the record. Tune in to hear this rare artifact, 'The N.Z. The iron-fisted thrash metal group Warbringer is gearing up to tear through Australia with a highly anticipated national tour in April. The US titans will hit Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney, bringing their signature blend of high-speed intensity and relentless energy to Australian fans. Local purveyors of hard-hitting tunes, Drunk Mums will be storming onto the Arockalypse Now stage in San Remo on April 18. Known for their raw riffs, sharp hooks and sweat-drenched live shows, the group have multiple albums to their name and years of touring across Australia, the UK and Europe, earning a reputation for no-nonsense, high-energy performances that hit hard every time. Ahead of the festival, Phil MacDougall catches up with Jake and Adam from the band.
