PBS is deeply saddened by the passing of Boon Wurrung, Dja Dja Wurrung, Woiwurrung and Yorta Yorta Elder Uncle Jack Charles, who passed away Monday night. All of us here at the station send our love to his family and loved ones, and the countless folks who's lives he has touched.

Julia Jacklin's third album PRE PLEASURE is this week's PBS Feature Album. 

Conceived upon returning to Australia at the end of a huge world tour, and finished in a frantic few months of recording in Montreal, "The songs on this record took either three years to write or three minutes". PRE PLEASURE sees Julia Jacklin expanding beyond her signature sound, while conjuring the ripples and faultlines caused by unreliable communication.

Submissions are open now for this year's UpStart Award, with entries closing August 31, 2022. Funded by a music-loving family in Melbourne, the UpStart Award is an annual round of grants given to emerging Victorian singer-songwriters. Winners are chosen by a panel of local music experts.
