In 1978, Robert Forster co-founded acclaimed rock band The Go-Betweens with friend and fellow singer-songwriter Grant McLennan. Their sixth album, '16 Lovers Lane', was placed at # 12 on The 100 Best Australian Albums list, and their ninth and last, 'Oceans Apart', won the 2005 ARIA award for Best Adult Contemporary Album. Today on the show, Crispi will be chatting with Robert Forster about his 2025 album 'Strawberries', which he'll be performing at The Thornbury Theatre on Sept 12.

'Diúlfhiacla' (baby teeth) is a collection of nine songs from Jojo Blakeney - a proud queer, non-binary artist of the Irish diaspora, born on Wurundjeri Country. Their work intertwines a long-standing practice of creating ambient music for meditation with traditional Gaelic folk music, gentle carrying intimate poems through both. This morning on Down By The River, Jojo joins Lauren Plant for an intimate live performance from 10am.

Hyper Primate is a parkour first-person-shooter game developed by Sydney-based indie team Totem Softproducts. With the goal of chaining movement, weapons, artifacts, and nerve into perfect runs, players dash, grapple, blast, and slam through obstacle courses built for speed, mastery, and score attack obsession. Totem Softproducts developers Edan Woodward and Jake Hodgson chat with Matt on Game Jams about how this game and soundtrack came together over the last four years.

One of Australia’s foremost blues writers and performers, Marlene Cummins knows the blues from an Aboriginal woman’s perspective. Deeply influenced by her people's story, Marlene tells this through her art, lyrics, onstage performance as both an actress and singer, and more recently, through documentary filmmaking. Jazz and experimental clarinetist, improviser, composer and budding empresario Olivia Jones joins Cas to discuss 'Art Seed', a new Melbourne collective centered on providing gathering spaces for creative music in our beautiful city. Olivia runs regular curated gigs featuring emerging and well-known experimental jazz and improvising musicians on the Melbourne scene. Tune in to hear about Art Seed launching a label with Sydney Road Studios, to further support the local industry.

Joining Robyn live in the studio tonight to chat about their new EP, ‘UNDENIABLE’ is ILLAN KAAPAN. From Sri Lanka to Melbourne, these guys have made a huge mark on the Australian hardcore scene in a short space of time. A follow up to their 2025 debut demo, tune in to hear them discuss these six tracks that demonstration the band's authenticity and creativity.

Vegan deathcore firestarters To The Grave will be joining Ryan on the show tonight, chatting about their headline tour with No Cure, veganism and the Australian deathcore scene. Tune in from 10pm to hear from vocalist Dane Evans and guitarist Nic Webb, along with tracks from their upcoming fourth full length album 'Liberation Front', which will be out on October 2 via BLKIIBLK.

Joining Chris tonight for a chat and a live performance is 4-piece psych/prog/stoner rock group Junkyard Wizards. Their album 'The Sky As We Know It' came out end of last year, and follows the physical and psychological journey of a group of wizards as they encounter an ancient malevolent being. Returning to the Melbourne stage for the first time since coming home from Europe, Seedy Jeezus will also be playing at Lulie Tavern on September 4 alongside Junkyard Wizards. Joining Chris Pearson on Pojama People to chat about it, tune in to hear about the latest vinyl reissue of their 2015 self-titled debut album - the third pressing of the record that started it all.

Coming on to the show this week, is The Jawa Pitu Band, who are launching their second album 'Kapindho' at the Northcote Social Club on September 5. They will be joined by Sekar Kidul, Melbourne's Sundanese Kacapi Suling ensemble, and performances from Reog Ponorogo (Javanese Giant Mask Dance), Pencak Silat (Sundanese martial arts), and the Sanggar Lestari Indonesian dance troupe. Tune in as members of The Jawa Pitu Band visit the Global Village to talk about the new album.
