Directed by powerhouse Liona Tatafu, HALO Vocal Ensemble features a diverse lineup of artists from different communities across Melbourne to perform collaboratively and simultaneously on one stage. Along with PBS's very own MzRizk, the ensemble performs reimagined arrangements of modern RnB, soul, jazz, gospel, house and hip hop in a special showcase this Friday night at Kindred Bandroom. 'The Bach Project' is the new album by Melbourne-based vocalist Michelle Nicolle, which reinterprets the music of J.S. Bach into a unique chamber jazz style. Arranged for quartet the pieces showcase the mastery of Bach’s compositions whilst adding a new flavour of improvisation that can be both found and lost in his works. Michelle swings by Jazz on Saturday to talk about their upcoming performance at Melbourne Recital Centre on July 4.

Written by Melbourne music legend Ollie Olsen, the 1987 song Rooms For The Memory holds a special place in Australian music history as it was Michael Hutchence's only solo single released during his lifetime. On a new project that pays homage to Hutchence and aims to raise funds for Olsen's medical bills, Mick Harvey joins forces with Adalita and Andrew Duffield to issue a heartfelt new rendition of the song.
