Since their sold-out album launch in April the Puta Madre Bros have been shaking their stiff quiffs around the country and offending passers-by with their filthy looks, being accused of racism in backwards towns and attracting threats from animal protection advocates about their excessive use of chicken fur. Summoning the good dead spirits of Richie Valens, Pedro Vargas and Nathaniel Mayer, these three dirt-faced Mexicali-wannabes are like nothing else you will likely experience during your lifetime; the world’s only triple one-man-band! (think: Bob Log times 3!). Three men with three drums, three guitars, and a donkey load of foot percussion, belting out an infectious and sharply executed pile of mariachi-rock n roll-soul music. Recently signed to Germany’s Rookie Records, the band will disappear from early September to take their jalapeno sound around the world for an undisclosed length of time. PBS FM invite you and your mother to join Puta Madre Brothers for their final Melbourne show at The East Brunswick Club on Friday 6th August. Special guests include The Toot Toot Toots (the funniest garage big band in town!), Red Brigade (12-piece all woman brass band!), and The Ukeladies (the sweetest thing this side of Honolulu!).
