UK four-piece Dry Cleaning’s much anticipated sophomore album Stumpwork is this week’s PBS Feature Album.

As soon as Dry Cleaning finished their debut album New Long Leg, they immediately set about moving forwards. Having already started writing their second record before their first was released, they proposed to producer John Parish that they spend twice as much time on the follow-up.

So much of The Ocean Party’s music balances moments of introspection with visceral expression as themes of identity and belonging are brought to light by the shared perspectives of the band’s songwriters. The Melbourne-via-Wagga-Wagga six-piece were a prolific and impressive bunch who wrote insightful songs that mirrored the shifts in the lives of its members over the years.

Surprise Chef’s music is based on evoking mood; their vivid arrangements utilise time and space to build soundscapes that invite the listener into their world. The quintet’s distinct sound pulls from '70s film scores, the funkier side of jazz, and the samples that form the foundation of hip hop.

BATTS is the project of Melbourne based singer-songwriter and producer, Tanya Batt. After collaborating with NASA on her debut The Grand Tour, BATTS turned her sights back to Earth, collaborating on this record with American artists Sharon Van Etten and Deep Sea Diver.

The Nightline was made in the Australian bush with her band members and honorary sixth member Alex O'Gorman engineering, surrounded by horses and lorikeets often joining the band for lunch.
