Artist | Track/Song Name | Album Title | Label/Distributor | Comments

Opening Theme: Spoonful | Cola Man | Indian Tiger Waterfall

1. Lonnie Liston Smith & The Cosmic Echoes | Expansions | Expansions
- Lonnie will be touring Australia for the first time and is playing at The Night Cat on Aug 25th with support from Mandarin Dreams, Barney McAll, Lori and PBS' own Shio from Eternal Rhythm will be dj-ing.
2. The Stovall Sisters | Hang On In There | The Stovall Sisters
- The Stovall Sisters were primarily a gospel trio who recorded one soul crossover album for Reprise in 1971 which features this great tune.
3. Brass Knuckle Brass Band | Quixotic | You Know How It Is
- This is the 2nd album from this Canberra funk band which was released in June.
4. Cookin' On 3 Burners | The Jump Off | Single B-side
- This is the b-side to their collaboration song with Kaiit, Warning which I played on the show a couple of weeks ago. The single launch will be at the NSC on Sept 7th with guest Stella Angelico.

5. Elvis Presley | Trouble/Guitar Man | Elvis (NBC TV Special)
- The 41st anniversary of Elvis' passing is next Thursday but unfortunately, I won't be doing the show so thought I'd do a little tribute today. Later on this year will be the 50th anniversary of what is now known as the '68 Comeback Special so I thought it would be fitting to play a track from that soundtrack.
6. Wanda Jackson | Funnel Of Love | B-side of Right Or Wrong
- This is one of my favourite Wanda songs which was surprisingly not an a-side but released as a B-side in 1961.
7. Wrong Turn | Gimme More | Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!!
- Wrong Turn are launching this EP at the Labour In Vain on Saturday night with support from Thee Cha Cha Chas.
8. Juliette Seizure & The Tremor-Dolls | Out Of My Head | Seizure Salad
- This Adelaide band were in town recently supporting Baby 8's album launch but they will be back in November supporting HITS at the Bendigo Hotel on Nov 16th for their only Melbourne show in 2018.
9. Hot Wings | Uncertain | Forthcoming Album
- Hot Wings are playing at the Post Office Hotel with the all-female Link Wray tribute band, The Wraylettes tomorrow night. This is from their forthcoming album, due out towards the end of the year.

10. Pony Face | Undercover | Deja Vu
- Pony Face are putting on an anniversary ball to celebrate their 10th anniversary! It's happening at Howler tomorrow night with support from Blake Scott, Baby Blue and DJ Maddy Mac from Homebrew! This great tune is from their most recent album, released earlier this year.
11. Harmony | Double Negative | Double Negative
- Harmony's album launch for their 3rd album is on Saturday night at The Tote with support from Fungus Brains, Michael Beach Band & Venetian Blind.
12. Regurgitator | Living In The City | Black Bugs [Single]
- Regurgitator are playing tomorrow night at 170 Russell with support from Glitoris & The Streets Of Leisure. Their new album Headroxx has just been released but this is a really cool B-side from their Black Bugs single, released in 1998.
13. Death Cab For Cutie | Transatlanticism | Transatlanticism
- A tribute show to celebrate the 15th anniversary of this album is happening on Saturday night at The Corner featuring Lauren Perkins, Emma Heeney, JMS Harrison and more.

14. Tony Molina | Jasper's Theme | Kill The Lights
- Tony specialises in very short power pop songs, in a similar vein to Guided By Voices. This is his 4th solo album, released recently.
15. The Jangle Band | The Guy Who Used To Care | Single
- This is the first single from the Jangle Band's forthcoming 2nd album.
16. Utopia | Crystal Ball | Deface The Music
- This album was a deliberate attempt by Utopia's Todd Rundgren to pay a homage to The Beatles which isn't dissimilar to what Neil Innes did with The Rutles. I'm also excited to say that it was recently announced that there will be a 2nd Todd Rundgren show happening at The Curtin on October 30th! His first show on Oct 27th is sold out.
17. Cheap Trick | Southern Girls | In Color
- Cheap Trick are going to be playing at The Palais Theatre on Oct 15th with support from Dallas Crane. Although some of their later stuff is much maligned, their 70s output is amazing Rock/Pop and their 2nd album from 1977 is one of their best.
18. Loose Tooth | All The Colours Gone | Keep Up
- Loose Tooth's album launch is happening at Howler on Aug 25th with support from The Ocean Party, Elizabeth (Totally Mild) and DJ Annualise Redlich. This album is the station feature on PBS this week.

19. Blackbirds FC | These Four Chords | Life Science
- This band's debut EP is released on Aug 24th and will be launched on Aug 25th at Lyrebird Lounge in Ripponlea with support from The Golden Rail and Trish O'Gorman.
20. Cam Butler | Together [Again] | Find Your Love
- This is a great cinematic instrumental album focusing on guitar and strings from 2017.
21. Scott Walker | The Old Man's Back Again (Dedicated To The Neo-Stalinist Regime) | Scott 4
- This also continues the dark-folk-strings theme with a great track from Scott's album from 1969.
22. Broads | The Valley | Vacancy
- Broads are playing at the Edinburgh Castle in Brunswick tonight.

23. Alan Munson | Sightly Sue | One Man's Journey: 1972-1979
- Alan released 3 albums in the 1970's and this is a recent compilation featuring songs from all three. This was originally released on In Debt with Bill Cooley in 1972.
24. Katie Bates | Rewrite A Page | New Gold
- Taken from Katie's debut EP, released recently. Her next shows are at The Drunken Poet on Aug 15th and The Rochester Hotel on Aug 19th.
25. Kyle Brew | Hangover Day | Hangover Day
- This is Kyle's debut EP, released last week. There is a launch planned for November.

Closing Theme: Ashley Davies | To Carpentaria - Into The Unknown | The Expedition Burke & Wills
