John Duffey is known as The Father of Modern Bluegrass. A singer and mandolinist he was a co-founder of the band The Country Gentlemen and founder of Seldom Scene. Akira Otsuka, producer of "Epilogue: A tribute to John Duffey" (Smithsonian Folkways) is a mandolinist and was a long time friend of John Duffey. He will be calling from the U.S.
The album features many top Bluegrass musicians and Akira took many years to put it together.
