This week’s feature album is the much anticipated third release from New Zealand born singer-songwriter Aldous Harding, Designer.
The follow-up to her 2017 album Party, Designer seems to gracefully pick up where Party left off. Recorded in Bristol, Harding once again teamed up with Pj Harvey collaborator John Parish to produce an album that’s as captivating as it is cryptic.
Designer is somewhat reminiscent of the post psychedelic era with its slightly lysergic tempo shifts & pregnant pauses, inscrutable lyrics & eccentric vocal styling. Elegant & masterfully understated, the songs are sweetly charming with a warmth that invites you to dive deep into Harding’s colourful imagination.
