“Can’t imagine a better use for a velodrome.” – Floating Points (UK)

Freedom Time announces its return to the Coburg Velodrome, this time bringing 3 stages boasting a stunning curation of local & international DJ’s, live acts and more. On New Year’s Day!

Spearheading Freedom Time NYD is the internationally revered DJ and Producer Theo Parrish, set to deliver his signature style of gritty motor city productions bookended with a deep knowledge of soul, disco and rare grooves. Crossing the Pacific Ocean from the great city of Detroit, The Sound Signature boss is ever brilliant and we can’t wait to welcome him to the Velodrome for an extended set on the main stage.

Joining Theo is Nick The Record (UK) who is considered amongst the record collecting and DJ communities as one of the most established dealers and collectors in the scene. He has been considered the go to guy for DJs seeking rare music for many years now and was a resident of the famed Japanese party Lifeforce for almost 20 years. It can be rest assured that Nick’s deep knowledge of music will transcend from off the shelves and onto the dance floor at Freedom Time.

Rounding up the international lineup is Amsterdam’s Tako, one of the great minds behind cult reissue label Music from Memory and the store Red Light Records. Recently relocated from Melbourne to Amsterdam, Izabel of radio show turned vinyl label Lullabies for Insomniacs, will be joining Tako for a b2b set.

Our internationally acclaimed local talent includes renowned 3 piece synth driven outfit Harvey Sutherland & Bermuda. Andras, Melbourne champion of underground house. Psychedelic disco connoisseurs Wax’o Paradiso, otherworldly fusion rock outfit Krakatau and PBS Radios DJ Jnett who returns to play for her third time in the Velodrome.

Finally Melbourne-based label and agency Wondercore Island are set to present a brand new third stage of local experimental jazz, funk & soul acts including the famed powerhouse rhythm section of Hiatus Kaiyote ‘Swooping Duck ’.
