Skank away the winter blues with some ska, rocksteady and early reggae at the next massive Jamaica Jump-Up shaking down at The Gasometer Hotel on Saturday, June 18.

This month we are very excited to bring together three of the most powerful female vocalists in Australia – Kerri Simpson, Nichaud Fitzgibbon and Kylie Auldist as The Majestics. The formidable trio will be backed by Jamaica Jump-Up’s mighty house band The Jump-Up Allstars for a celebration of the great Jamaican female artists from the 1950s to the present day. Bringing you the big hits and hidden treasures by artists such as The Gaylettes, The Dreamlettes’ Dawn Penn, Marcia Griffiths and more!

Keeping things toasty will be resident PBS DJs Jesse I (Babylon Burning), Stryka D (formerly Break the Chain) and Mohair Slim (Blue Juice). Guest selectors this month will be none other than the exceptional ELLE (Ms Butt) and Coco Brown with some killer 100% vinyl sets ready to keep bringing the good vibrations through the night.

We are also honoured to welcome world-class performer Queen Jigzie (known for her work with the African Dance Troupe; RU CL and the Global Trinity; Jamaica Irie and more) to the Jamaica Jump-Up family as she brings her special, truly Jamaican energy and knowledge to the stage as our MC for the night!

Door sales only! Get on down to the Gaso nice and early to beat the rush and get yourselves warmed up for another cracking night.
