Over a leisurely four-days audiences can immerse themselves in a jam-packed long weekend of premium jazz and blues from a stellar line up of Australian and international musicians.

Across the four days and nights of the pre-Melbourne Cup Day long weekend – Friday 30
October to Monday 2 November, Wangaratta will play host to more than 300 musicians in over 80 concerts on the main program, and over 16 concerts on the new Riverside Precinct free stage. Locals and visitors looking for a great value long weekend immersion will jump at the chance to secure the highly sought after Gold Pass, which offers unlimited access, guaranteed seating (and no queues), in the concert venues. Visitors to the high country can also take advantage of the flexible Festival Pass, which provides access to all shows with the flexibility to build in regional activities over the weekend.

Following the success of its 25th anniversary program in 2014, Wangaratta Jazz & Blues enters a new era of growth with the addition of two exciting new spaces at the 2015 Festival – the new ticketed outdoor Gardens Stage in the idyllic King George Gardens and the free Riverside Stage along Faithfull Street, overlooking the Ovens River.
The revamped Riverside Precinct hosts performances, music workshops, with fine wines and sumptuous food available, alongside our traditional concert venues that will again delight loyal audiences with some of the world’s finest jazz and blues artists.
Artistic Director Adrian Jackson says the diverse program of jazz, blues and crossover music signals an exciting new chapter in the festival’s 26th year.
“The international line-up features some outstanding artists, notably the acclaimed trumpeter and composer Dave Douglas (USA). The Cuban explorations of Canadian saxophonist Jane Bunnett with her band Maqueque will be a big hit, as will the famous kings of boogie ‘n’ blues, Canned Heat, over at the Blues Marquee” said Jackson. “The Australian line-up is equally strong with the hugely popular James Morrison, the unstoppable Joe Camilleri, an acoustic, jazz-leaning set from popular rock band Thirsty Merc, while Finn-Land will see singers Emma Pask and Darren Percival putting a jazz spin on the songs of Tim Finn and Neil Finn.
