Sometimes a genre of music threatens to slip from public consciousness due to a lack of exposure and promotion, or simply fades from view and is forgotten.

After all, we can't hear all of the music all of the time. If Jamaican ska, rocksteady and early reggae falls under this definition for you, then a Melbourne band is gonna make you one very happy punter.

Shanty Town plays Jamaican hits from 1965 to 1975 including all the greats you'd expect to hear from a band that has 'authentic' down to a tee. All the classics are here from the song which gave them their name, '007 Shanty Town', to 'Double Barrel', '54-46', 'Tighten Up' and sultry classics like Dawn Penn's 'No No No'. Shanty Town recreates Kingston Town in the late sixties like nobody else. A jukebox atmosphere pervades as Shanty Town don't get in the way of a genre that will absolutely get you rocking!
