After an 18-year pause in her solo career, the iconically cool Cherry has released her fourth album ‘Blank Project’ to a chorus of praise ranging from ‘fearless and relevant’ to ‘stark, bracing, and emotionally vulnerable’.

The sassy woman who stormed onto the British music scene in the late 80s, melding hip-hop with British dance sensibility, still forms the backbone of ‘Black Project’, but the tracks take a noticeable departure from anything Cherry has released previously, with critics raving about the revelatory new direction of her music.

Cherry’s live showcase of ‘Blank Project’ is eerie and evocative; loose drums and a few synthesisers are often the only accompaniment to her organic vocals. Elements of beat poetry, avant-electronica and beautiful melodies combine to make live pop music that sounds completely unique and uncompromising.

Witness the creative reinvention of one of our most original and influential artists when Neneh Cherry graces the Hamer Hall stage this March.
