by Livingstone Daisies

Ok. So, regular listeners to The Breakfast Spread will know that i have a bit of an obsession with the Livingstone Daisies. With such a talented lineup consisting of Van & Cal Walker, Liz Stringer & Michael Barclay in one band, how can you go wrong? Of course, the songs still have to be strong and they certainly are on this collection. Although Van is one of the most prolific songwriters in Melbourne, he is also so consistent in writing songs of real quality. The opening tune, Risking It All, would almost be enough to make the album a classic regardless of the other tunes but the album keeps rolling with Since You Came Along, Down To Earth and through to the epic closer Pistol Pete. A rollercoaster of melody, rock & roll and storytelling all rolled into one neat package. With already two albums released and reportedly a double album in the works, it doesn't sound like this will be the last of the Daisies for a while either and thank god!!
