You may have seen Matt Green in a supporting role, playing guitar for half of the Melbourne music scene including Jordie Lane, Deep Street Soul, Kylie Auldist, Mick Thomas, Tracy McNeil, Simone Felice (US) and many more…
And now it's his turn to step into the spotlight with The Matty Green Band. Formed in late 2011, The Matty Green Band call the sounds of Lucinda Williams, Little feat, Emmy Lou Harris' Spy Boys, Buddy Miller and Jimi Hendrix as just some of their influences. This is Melbourne Alt country as it should be: heartfelt, exquisite songs with space, peppered with Green’s arresting guitar solos.
Joined by Tim McCormack (Gruntbucket, Stella Angelico, James McCann) on bass and Jeremy Furze (Plastic Palace Alice, Bitter Sweethearts) on drums, don't miss them play live to air on The Straight To You Sessions on Monday August 8 between 3-5pm on Jenny O’Keefe’s Homebrew.
Produced with the assistance of the Community Broadcasting Foundation and AMRAP.
