Jenny O'Keefe is delighted to invite Kotet to perform on the Straight To You sessions on Homebrew, Monday July 2nd, 2012 between 3-5 pm. In Adelaide, Kirsty Morphett picked up an instrument at 5, sang for family members at parties, and later started busking in Adelaide. In 2002, she relocated to Melbourne for its music scene. In the band Lamplight, she played piano, guitar and sang as part of the avant-garde folk band well respected for their memorable and intense live performances. After six years they disbanded. Kotet is the next creative project for Kirsty Morphett, and expresses her diverse taste, philosophical concepts and ties together her writing styles. The result will invite you to forget about traditional genres and sink into the musical expression of a dreamers imagination. Joined by Zoe Frater and Anthony Stanislavski, hear this genre defying adventure in music and context. You won’t want to miss this on Homebrew.
Produced with the assistance of the Community Broadcasting Foundation and Amrap.
