PBS Presents:
1. Allen Stone – The Corner Hotel – Sunday 14 April
Following a sold out Melbourne show in April, Stone returns Allen Stone with songs from his new album slated for release early 2019. Allen Stone's vocals and melodic style show the clear influence of classic soul and R&B of the 1960s and ‘70s, while his lyrics reveal an idealism and passion that recall the folk-inspired singer-songwriters of the same era.

2. Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real – The Corner Hotel – Wed 17 April
Lukas Nelson, the son of Willie Nelson and friend of Bluesfest is returning to tour Australia with his band Promise Of The Real on the heels of tremendous accolades for his work on Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s ‘A Star Is Born’ soundtrack. Drawing lineage from his father, Willie Nelson and surrogate uncles like Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, J.J. Cale and Neil Young, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real have developed into a devastating, ‘can’t miss’ live act, delivering an indelible blast of cosmic country-soul.

3. California Honeydrops – The Corner Hotel – Wed 24 April
The Bay Area ensemble, The California Honeydrops are celebrating their 10th year together with the release of their seventh studio album and first ever double album, ‘Call It Home: Vol. 1 & 2’. Led by dynamic vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Lech Wierzynski and drawing on diverse musical influences from Bay Area R&B, Funk, Southern Soul, Delta Blues, and New Orleans second-line.

4. Vintage Trouble – The Corner Hotel – Thu 25 April
Wowing audiences across the globe, Vintage Trouble are making a much-anticipated return to Australian shores in 2019. The American Rhythm & Blues band possesses sharply honed instincts for rhythm and groove and unabashed showmanship. Their music is steeped in the heritage of old-school soul but utterly and irresistibly timeless.

5. Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic – the Forum – Thu 25 April
George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic will be ensuring that all Aussie fans have one last chance to see George perform live in Australia this April before his Funk-a-thon farewell to the land down under. Recording both as Parliament and Funkadelic, George Clinton revolutionised R&B during the ‘70s, twisting soul music into Funk by adding influences from several late 1960s acid heroes such as Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa and Sly Stone. The Parliament/Funkadelic machine ruled music during the ‘70s, capturing over 40 R&B hit singles and recording three platinum albums.

6. Snarky Puppy – The Forum – Friday 26 April
After a decade of relentless touring and recording in all but complete obscurity, the Texas-bred/New York-based quasi-collective suddenly found itself held up by the press and public as one of the major figures in the jazz world. Snarky Puppy is a collective of sorts with as many as 25 members in regular rotation. Snarky Puppy isn’t exactly a jazz band. It’s not a fusion band, and it’s definitely not a jam band. It’s probably best to take Nate Chinen of the New York Times’ advice, as stated in an online discussion about the group, to “take them for what they are, rather than judge them for what they’re not.”

7. Ray Lamontagne – Palais Theatre – Sat 27 April
The singer-songwriter who is making his long-awaited return Down Under after a 10-year hiatus will perform with John Stirratt, the bass player and founding member of the Grammy Award-winning band, Wilco. A regular on the Billboard’s Albums chart, Ray just released his seventh studio album ‘Part Of The Light' and his live performance will include his vast and varying body of work, including “Trouble”, “Till The Sun Turns Black” and "Gossip In The Grain”.
