Glitter and Doom

Glitter and Doom is an exploration of cabaret as a musical genre and performance art form, from turn-of-the-century Parisian chanson, to Brechtian art song to contemporary rock 'n' roll and punk cabaret.

The program features local and international artists, from almost a century of recording history across a breathtakingly eclectic range of cabaret and related musical curios, freaks and outliers.

Glitter and Doom uncovers the sordid, political and musical history of an art form that is as cynical as it is glamorous.
