THE HARPOONS - CURTIN BANDROOM
Listening to The Harpoons’ collection of insanely authentic sounding 60’s soul-pop on Myspace got me excited. Very excited. The sound was entirely fresh but at the same time it was like being sucked into an audio time warp.

THE DOLLY ROCKER MOVEMENT - NORTHCOTE SOCIAL CLUB
Underneath the crimson smoky lights of the Northcote Social Club, Daniel Poulter looks like a Tim Burton caricature of Jim Morrison. He dances around the stage like a pretty little rock’n’roll puppet evoking all the greats in every shimmy, swivel and Jagger swagger.

M83 - PRINCE OF WALES
It’s been a huge summer for music in Australia and boy, have we been spoilt. The last time M83 came out here was for the 2008 Midnight Juggernauts tour; now, they’re back as part of the international V Festival line up for 2009.
