A Festival for the Family Find yourself in Maldon for the 34th Folk Festival and be a part of a long weekend of music, dance, poetry and theatre! As always, Maldon is offering a fine family festival, designed to appeal to all ages.
We are a festival of small venues, in historic halls, churches and pubs, with the unique bush amphitheatre of Mount Tarrangower offering relaxed camping and a food and music village that comes alive for the long weekend.
In addition to our extensive programme of music and dance, there are workshops, chalkboard and session venues, street performances, kid's events and more!

Kid's Entertainment Saturday will see our Children's Music Circus in a dedicated marquee at Tarrangower Reserve. Music and fun, face painting and a host of kid-friendly workshops. On Sunday the oldies can attend our main concert while the littlies do their stuff in the marquee next door where our resident artist, Karen Pierce will present a host of hands-on activities.
The Dances Always a favourite with families. Friday night Goldfields Colonial Ball with the Emu Creek Bush Band & The Gay Charmers. Saturday arvo family bush dance with Brewers Own Bush Band. Saturday night Ceilidh with Eileen Moran & friends.
Saturday Market Day At Maldon Primary School, this is a vast market, from craft to local produce, wines, clothing and food with buskers and street performers.
Tarrengower Session Tent Dust off those instruments, warm up your vocal chords and join us in shared music, singing and camaraderie in our session tent complete with a fire at the Mount Tarrangower Reserve.
The Workshops Children and beginners welcome. This year will include: Bodhran, Irish Fiddle, Kuwela Whistle, Cajun Fiddle, Eastern European Accordian, Aussie Percussion Instruments, Morris Dancing, Guitar, Bagpipes, Whistle/Flute, Irish Step Dancing, Finger Picking Acoustic Blues, Harmonica, Ukelele, Didgeridoo, Harmony Singing, Italian Folk Song - the list goes on!
