Blue Ruin Return from 10 Year Hiatus

20 years since the release of their debut album, "Such Sweet Thunder", Melbourne band, BLUE RUIN return from a ten year hiatus to promote the album's re release with a one off show at The Corner Hotel on Saturday, 11th February2006.

BLUE RUIN formed out of the ashes of Melbourne band, Scrap Museum in 1985. With members, Ian [Quincy] McLean [lead vocals] Adam Learner [bass] Mulaim Vela [lead guitar]    When Phill Calvert [ex Birthday Party] arrived back from his stint with U.K. band Psychedelic Furs, he replaced drummer Frank Borg, giving birth to BLUE RUIN. A raw rock 'n' roll band, who always acknowledged its forebears, the blues.

First album, "Such Sweet Thunder" [‘85] then "Flame" [‘87] established their hard-edged, bluesy based style. Television appearances on Rock Arena and Countdown, then topping Australian Independent Record Charts, they were nominated for the ARIA's Independent Album of The Year. Three albums later the boys called it quits - leaving their enormous army of fans in withdrawal.

Now twenty years later, one last chance to see the band live again, to reflect in their magic and memories of untamed youth. Don't miss this trip down Australian Independent Musical History. Supported by "My Disco" plus other special guests to be announced, join the reunion on Saturday, 11th February at The Corner Hotel.
