With over 60 bands playing at an eclectic mix of High Street venues, High Vibes - now entering its fifth consecutive year - is fast becoming one of Melbourne's premier music festivals. 'High Vibes 2005 - Welcome to Tropical Northcote', is set to be bigger, better and fruitier than ever enlivening and inspiring audiences from far and wide.

Festival Highlights: This year, thanks to sucessful funding from the Victorian Multicultural Commission, Stuzzi Cafe will host a World Music Stage featuring Carlos X Panguana, Kutcha Edwards, Manouche a trois and performers Rene & Etienne.
Another new initiaitive of High Vibes 2005 is the production of a festival CD in conjunction with students from NMIT featuring 10 tracks from various musical genres represented at the festival this year including Music vs Physics, Legends of Motorsport, Carlos X Panguana, Silver Ray and more...these CD’s will be available to purchase on the day of the event.
This year a special ‘Kidz Zone’ is to be initiated to entertain the younger audience members of the festival.
And for those interested in environmental issues the festival will have a Green Hub with information about alternative transport and alternative energy products.
As well as the performances taking place in the numerous music and arts venues there will also be roving performers and impromptu activities aplenty.
Now entering its fifth consecutive year in 2005, the High Vibes music festival has rapidly expanded reflecting the changes taking place in the Northcote area as it becomes inner Melbourne’s premier destination for arts and entertainment.
High Vibes organisers also wish to encourage responsible drinking on the day of the event. Keep your feet on the street - choose the music and dancing at High Vibes 2005!
